Barrett brings 18 years of industry experience to the Firm. As a Managing Director and Head of Education Asset Management North America, he oversees the strategic management, development, and disposition of the Firm’s real estate assets and manages various operating partner relationships. He also assists in the sourcing and underwriting of potential acquisition and development opportunities and focuses on portfolio management.

Prior to joining Harrison Street, Barrett served as a Vice President at Greenfield Partners, where he handled asset management, development, and disposition responsibilities for the Firm’s investments and managed multiple operating partner relationships. He also participated in the acquisition identification, underwriting, and closing of various transactions. Prior to Greenfield, Barrett worked as an Analyst in the Leveraged Finance – Investment Banking Group at Credit Suisse in New York. His main responsibilities included underwriting LBO’s and recapitalizations, analyzing the leverage and liquidity of multiple companies, and participating in all levels of deal origination and execution.

Barrett earned a BS degree with High Honors from Cornell University in the Industrial Labor Relations School.
